The Brilliance of Our Gemstone Settings — Honestly Explained
Why pay for a name to get real sparkle? Depending on the model, our pieces are set with premium simulated diamonds or upgraded genuine VVS moissanite — each hand-set to capture the fire and brilliance of a natural diamond.
Which Stone Is on Your Watch?
We tell you plainly what’s set on each piece — so there are no surprises when it arrives.
Premium Simulated Diamonds
Set on the majority of our standard factory diamond-set models — high-carbon synthetic stones, cut to true natural-diamond proportions.
- To the eye: very hard to tell apart by eye, with exceptional clarity and excellent light return.
- On a tester: because of what they’re made of, they will not pass a thermal diamond tester.
Genuine VVS Moissanite
Found on select premium models, or available as an upgrade on others. Moissanite is a genuine gemstone, grown from silicon carbide.
- To the eye: a higher refractive index than a natural diamond — more fire and sparkle.
- On a tester: reliably passes a standard thermal diamond tester.
Important — How to Get Moissanite
Moissanite is not fitted to every watch by default. Some models come with it from the factory; on others, it is available as a paid upgrade. If you would like moissanite — or if passing a thermal diamond tester matters to you — please confirm with our team before ordering whether your chosen model has it as standard or needs the upgrade.
The Moissanite Advantage
On models fitted with the moissanite upgrade.
Passes the Tester
Thanks to its thermal conductivity, moissanite reliably passes the standard thermal diamond testers jewelers use.
Mohs Hardness
A natural diamond is 10; moissanite is 9.25 — well above sapphire, ruby, or emerald, and highly resistant to scratching and clouding over years of wear.
Refractive Index
Higher than a natural diamond’s 2.42 — which is why moissanite returns so much light, with notable fire and brilliance.
Hand-Faceted, Never Glued
Whether it’s our premium simulated diamonds or VVS moissanite, we do not use adhesives. Every stone in our collections is:
- Hand-faceted by skilled lapidaries for strong light return and symmetry.
- Prong-set — held by micro-metal prongs, the way fine jewelry is done.
- Calibrated to size, so the bezel or dial sits even and smooth to the touch.
“Proper prong-setting holds each stone securely in the metal — far less likely to loosen than the glued stones found on lower-grade pieces.”
